As this is the first post in my new blog, I wish to introduce myself. Hello, my name is Isabella Martínez Martínez and I am a freshman at UT. I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a beautiful country in the Caribbean filled with music, good food and a unique culture. Some fun facts about me are that I speak 3 languages (Spanish, English and Italian), I hate beans with a passion and I love to go to the beach to tan and swim in the crystal blue ocean whenever I get a chance. Some other fun facts are that I love to talk and cannot shut up and most of the time, I’m listening to music and love to make playlists to match my mood or remember some great moments. Some of my hobbies are sports like softball, beach tennis, tennis and volleyball. I also love to read and go outside to appreciate nature. Since arriving at UT, I have begun to find new hobbies like running around campus at night with a friend and going to the gym more often. Some of my accomplishments I would say are winning championships in beach tennis back home and completing high school with first honors. To me, school has always been extremely important. One of my greatest fails is that I quit speaking french at a young age and missed that opportunity to have another language since I love to be able to learn them and gain more knowledge of other cultures. Now, you know a little bit more about me!
Yesterday, I took the class, Digital Media, for the first time. I’m not going to lie, I was extremely nervous for that class because I have no artistic bone in my body. However, being in the class and listening to the professor explain what the course entailed, I left more relaxed and confident that I would enjoy the semester. By taking this class, I expect to become a computer expert and to be more creative. I hope this class will help my inner artist and help me become more familiarized with different apps to create posters, ads, etc. As a PR major, I believe that the skills we will acquire this semester are extremely important for our future careers and will only benefit us. I really hope that at the end of the course, I can look at my portfolio and I want to be proud of my work, even though I am still a little nervous due to my lack of artistic visiones. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to this class and to also get to know my classmates better while learning a bit more about digital media and design.
