Illustrator Tools for Beginners

I believe that the tool that will be the easiest to use is the type tool because it is similar to ones I have used in other applications like Canvas or Word. I think that the hardest tool to use will be the Layer tool because even though I understand how to use it, I still need to practice to feel more comfortable with it. I might use the text tool for writing texts on different artworks or creating articles. Meanwhile, I use the layers tool to create a various number of artwork in the same page. What I find interesting about this video is how he explained the gridlines and helped me understand how to move the shapes and shadows. This video was extremely helpful and introduced new concepts about Illustrator.

I think that the color themes tool is the easiest to use because I only have to find the button and choose the color instead of doing a long process. The most difficult tool to use is the blend tool because I believe it has too many specific steps and I had not heard of this tool before. I would use these tools to make my work more colorful and creative. These tools could help transform my posters in the future and help create good advertising. I find interesting how, with this video, I was able to learn more about Illustrator that I hadn’t learned with the previous videos.

    I think that the easiest tool that was talked about in this video is the pen tool because we have talked about it in class before. At the same time, I believe that the most difficult tool to use that was introduced in this video is the Pathfinder because these steps will cause lots of confusion when the times comes that I need to use it. I believe I will use both of these tools to create shapes within my designs in my posters. I find interesting how this video is the most basic one for beginners that I have seen until now. Therefore, I believe that these will be the most helpful tools in all my assignments and the ones that I will use the most.

Artist Statement    The logo that I’m reusing for my Tagbrush project in Photoshop is the sunflower logo. BW to Color

  In this assignment, I used the Adobe app called Photoshop to edit the colors in one of my pictures. The photograph I used for the assignment is the one I used for a previous assignment where I am sitting in the docs in front of the riverwalk while admiring the buildings.           The history behind this picture is that  I have visited the docks at night regularly to find some hours of peace and even, friendly conversations. This is a place where I connect with nature and other people at the same time.   My overall vision of this assignment was to give color to the city of Tampa. I believe changing the colors represents different perspectives we can see through the city.
