Artist Statement:

The art I have created is an edit of me in a scene of my favorite tv show, Friends. I was able to create this in the app, Photoshop, which helped me transform myself into one of the characters.

         

The overall vision of this project was to become part of the show. Ever since I was young, my favorite sitcom has been Friends. The show always helped me by bringing me laughs and many life lessons. I have always loved the show because it was a way of comfort in difficult times until it became something familiar in my life. Ever since I saw the show for the first time, I thought of how I would love to be part of their friend group at some point and with this project, I was able to achieve that dream. The number of times I have seen the show is outrageous, so I decided that it should form a part of my project. 

 

I was inspired by a regular scene of the show. The scene presented in the picture is not unique or special, but just a regular episode where they are in the coffee house. I wanted to form part of their regular lives in this project and not make it about a big scene, just to concentrate on the characters and the setting. A technique that was extremely important in my project was the coloring. This was extremely important because the show was set in the 90’s and the graphics are completely different to what they are now. Therefore, I had to edit the colors of my picture in Photoshop to fit into to the group. 

 

In conclusion, this project made me feel as if I fulfilled a dream of mine and helped me learn how to manage some aspects of the app, Photoshop, like the importance of color within a picture.

Artist Statement    The logo that I’m reusing for my Tagbrush project in Photoshop is the sunflower logo. In the Photoshop app, I added some new techniques to give the logo a complete, new makeover.    The picture was originally used for a past project, where I drew a sunflower to be drawn on my forehead as my personal logo. As I have mentioned before, the sunflower resonates with the qualities and values I have. Sunflowers are associated with happiness, bubbliness, and sunshine. Illustrator Tools for Beginners

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_-ygXZUq3U I believe that the tool that will be the easiest to use is the type tool because it is similar to ones I have used in other applications like Canvas or Word. I think that the hardest tool to use will be the Layer tool because even though I understand how to use it, I still need to practice to feel more comfortable with it. I might use the text tool for writing texts on different artworks or creating articles. Meanwhile, I use the layers tool to create a various number of artwork in the same page. What I find interesting about this video is how he explained the gridlines and helped me understand how to move the shapes and shadows. BW to Color

  In this assignment, I used the Adobe app called Photoshop to edit the colors in one of my pictures. The photograph I used for the assignment is the one I used for a previous assignment where I am sitting in the docs in front of the riverwalk while admiring the buildings.           The history behind this picture is that  I have visited the docks at night regularly to find some hours of peace and even, friendly conversations. This is a place where I connect with nature and other people at the same time.   My overall vision of this assignment was to give color to the city of Tampa. I believe changing the colors represents different perspectives we can see through the city.
